Likes:
+ Daniel loves photography. It won't be strange to see him walking around with a camera hanging around his neck. At times he might snap photos at random, though his close friends learned to tolerate random clicks coming from his direction. He usually takes pictures just for the sake of the moment being captured, though he never has enough time to print the pictures out.
+ Daniel loves food, but nothing beats making it. Whether it's frying up some vegetable or baking a cake, it's always an enjoyable pass time for him. Usually he makes too much at once and tends to give extras to whoever wants them. He hates throwing perfectly good food out, and letting them waste away in a fridge is terrible. Besides, after something's been in a fridge it just doesn't taste the same as before.
+ He has a soft spot for cute things. It isn't uncommon for him to stop in his tracks and look at a small, adorable trinket. He'll put it down then walk away after about a minute, only to return and buy it after an hour or so. He'll always claim it's "for his neice".
+ He usually spends his free time reading a novel of some sort. He prefers classics like Alice in Wonderland and The Catcher in the Rye. He tries to avoid the books that aren't in his realm of interest at all. He figures it's best to keep to what he likes.
+ Daniel finds death, as well as dead things, to be...fascinating. He's always had the interest since he was young, and it hasn't changed as he got older. The like isn't usually shown, since most find it weird to like corpses. The most one can get about him showing it is asking for a dead animal from the pet section, which he refrains from doing since the people working in that department would give him a strange look.
+ He likes to drink alcohol, what more is there to say about it?
Dislikes:
- He doesn't like people smushing together in one giant mob. Black Friday is a nightmare, that much is obvious. He also has the urge to turn around and walk away if more than five people come his way all at once. Crowds make him nervous, not to mention they're annoying and stress him out. He'd rather just avoid them instead of tolerating them.
- He doesn't understand why people would rather lie than be honest. Surely it's better to say the truth right away instead of trying to lie and end up in even more trouble than before?
- Daniel hates being forced to be still, he finds it very uncomfortable. He needs to output his energy some way, whether it's by tapping a pencil or solving a Rubik's Cube. He would rather pace around, but he'll settle for something small.
- He isn't fond of sudden, loud noises. Alarms are the worst, since they tend to catch him off guard. Not to mention afterward he'll have a bad headache.
- "Old-school" vampires are fine, but the newer ones are just...downright depressing. Really? Sparkles? What are they, fairies?
- Daniel strongly dislikes smoking, mostly because of the smell it leaves behind. He doesn't mind if people he knows does it, but he'll kindly get out of the area when they do. Despite his hate, he smokes from time to time. He always tries to make sure he doesn't smell like smoke, and once even went out of his way to buy a bottle of Febreze just to take most of the smell away. That being said, he smelt like Vanilla Moonlight for the rest of the day.
Quirks:
+ There isn't a moment where Daniel isn't moving. He always makes sure he does something, whether work-related or not. It feels weird whenever he's not doing anything. Even when he's "relaxing" he's either bouncing his leg and tapping his fingers.
+ He speaks a bit quickly, though it gets worse when he's excited or nervous. He's understandable most of the time, though it won't be surprising if what he says sounds like a giant run-on sentence. He doesn't mind if someone asks him to repeat his words at a slower pace.
+ He sometimes walks around with an unlit cigarette in his mouth. It's usually because he planned on taking a smoke break, but something came up that kept him from doing so. There are some days he can go hours like that and not even notice. When someone points it out, he'll quickly put it away before he forgets.
Fears:
- Daniel doesn't like speaking in front of a large group of people. Usually having him try to actually try public speaking will either lead to him passing out, running to throw up, or plain freaking out...or even a combination of any of the three.
- Daniel isn't a fan of creepy crawlies, and spiders are no exception. If all else, he hates them the most. If he sees one, he'll just stay as far away from it as he possibly can. It won't be a surprise if he's stuck in a room because there was one on the door.
- Cats are creepy, okay? So what if they're cute and cuddly on the outside? Daniel doesn't like them one bit. They act all high and mighty, and frankly they just freak him out. Besides, he's more of a dog person anyway.
Personality:
> He always looks out for others and tries to help them the best he can. He never passes the opportunity to volunteer or donate to someone in need. Though, he does know when his help isn't wanted and will refrain from offering his assistance if it is...after a bit of insisting.
> Daniel is pretty laid back, not really gets upset over things easily. He's easy to forgive and tries to find the bright side of things. Well, usually. There are times where he's a pessimistic jerk who just wants to be left alone. Everyone has a bad day every now and then.
> If he does get mad, he usually has the urge to express his anger through physical means. He refrains from lashing out, though some times are harder than others. The most he can ever do is grit his teeth and clench his fists, since throwing a punch will most likely get him fired.
> He's very smart, loves to solve puzzles and riddles. He keeps his mind occupied when he has nothing else to do, excluding pacing about and tapping pencils. His favorite thing to mess with is a Rubik's Cube, both a puzzle and energy output into one. Of course, he can't have one around all the time. he does have a job to do.
> People find him a little strange, since he comes off as a bit...feminine. He doesn't like when people bring the subject up, only because he finds it annoying and not worth the time and effort. It doesn't help than a few of his interests are questionable, which tends to make him part of the "weirdo" group.
> He always tries to keeps a level-head, finding that actions on pure emotion usually end up for the worse. He attempts keeps things logical, though there are times where he can't help losing his head...or acting on impulse. It happens now and again, but not as often as when he was a child. It's probably best if you don't try to startle him.
> Daniel always keeps his promises. If he says he'll do something, no doubt he'll get it done as soon as he can. No matter what obstacles might be in his way, he'll overcome them for the sake of keeping to his word. He doesn't want to let anyone down.
> Daniel can't bring himself to lie to someone's face. If he tries, he gets a bit more fidgety than normal and avoids eye contact. Of course avoiding the topic is easier for him, though one can only avoid for so long. He can try to lie but he'll end up blurting out the truth then practically disappearing from sight before the other can question him further.
> Whoever says they've seen him doing nothing is either lying or, well, lying. Daniel is always moving around, pacing or tapping his foot. Even if he's sleeping he can't seem to keep still. If he gets excited about something, no doubt he would start jumping because of it. He's a generally healthy person too, if one excludes his smoking habit, and doesn't mind having a friendly race in the parking lot.
♕ DIDN'T MAKE SENSE NOT TO LIVE FOR FUN ♕
Roleplay Sample:Daniel looked over at the Spaniard and smiled. "Well, I have lived in London for quite a while, but sometimes moments like this happen when I forget an umbrella or coat. I'm sure it happens to others at some point or another," he replied, laughing slightly. Well, at least he wasn't lacking his frying pan or camera. Speaking of which, he was glad that he put the latter in its case than just have it hanging around his neck. Oh, that would have been a disaster...
"Coffee, if you wouldn't mind. I never really got used to the taste of tea," he went on. He had lived in England for quite a while, yet coffee always seemed more appealing than tea did. Coffee seemed to run through his veins, while tea just sat off to the side feeling unwanted. Some days he would have it, though today wasn't one of those days.
The Hungarian didn't really minding the fact that he was dripping wet anymore. He would probably end up at his work's bathroom, drying his shirt underneath the hand-dryers. It wouldn't be an odd site, since when it rained there was always some reason why he ended up walking into the building looking as though he fell into the Thames.
In fact, last time it rained he was in the same condition because he had given his umbrella to an older woman. She needed it far more than he did, since it looked as though she were to go off to do something fairly important, in which it wouldn't be good if she were soaked. He needed a new umbrella anyway, so it was a small sacrifice to pay.
Now, though, there wasn't really a better reason besides forgetting. Not anything he could really do about it, since it was already too late to head back home. He did have a job to go to, and one that was very unpredictable as well. At least he had his phone on, so they could call if there was an on-site examination to be done. He really liked the idea, since it's been a while since he had one of those.
Though, the option to have a sick day did seem rather appealing. Ah, decisions, always so hard to make even when they seemed so simple to others. Eh, he'll just go. No use turning back when he was already halfway there, no?
He began tapping his fingers against the table as he looked outside the window again. "As much as I do love the rain, I just hope it eases up soon instead of getting worse..." he sighed. If the latter happened, well, then he would be a sitting duck for who-knows how long.
