Airini could honestly scarcely believe one can slipping had made all this mess. And well- She wanted to fix this as quickly as possible so of course she was rushing. There she was grumbling obscenities to herself in Maori, frustrated look fixed on her face. Sideways, longways, no matter what they wouldn't stay. This was testing her patience- which yes she normally liked but not to this extreme. And with people, not objects. So on she turned the music on her iPhone, shoving the little earbuds in for a little bit of encouragement. She didn't know why but music always encouraged her- long as it wasn't too loud or that country music that annoyed her to no end. Or that song Crazy Frog! There was no song that she loathed more than that little neon blue frog and his crazy sounds. She kept getting lost in her thoughts though, and couldn't focus. Today was just one of those days for her.
Being stubborn as she was she just kept on trying. But no matter how many times she tried to restack the cans onto the display they slipped right on over again- this time on top of her. "Fuck-" Little did she know that one of the Janitors had been seeing her antics. That was when she noticed him, getting up and getting the cans off of her to look him over a moment. "I'm so new to this." She muttered, her facial expression showing that she wanted help as she went and pulled him over.

It was one of those rare occasions, in which he was actually going about his job and not getting horrendously distracted as he worked. That being said, he could spot the cans of a once precarious display strewn across the floor. He would have dropped his broom to complain but at least the perpetrator had the decency to try to clean up. The key word being 'try'.
If nothing else, it was amusing to observe the newcomer's attempts to fix the display, especially since he had been in the same position some time ago. And it was obvious this person was a newcomer with the way the can's kept falling over. He had taken to leaning against his broom and observing her tenacity with a grin, perseverance sure was a funny thing.
When the cans fell on top of the girl, Feliciano figured he should help as a person before the other actually wound up hurt. Setting his broom aside, he inched his way closer until she noticed him and, to his surprise, instead of snapping at him like he would have she pulled him over. Well, he may as well do his job. He moved the cans closer together before attempting what the other had been failing at for the last few minutes. As he began stacking the cans he couldn't help glancing at the girl with a cheeky grin, “You were losing the battle with these cans, huh? These guys are bastards so it's okay to be annoyed with them.”

"Sure was... Tell the truth I wouldn't even be here if it wasn't for my Older Bro. But I got a job to do, so." She paused a moment as she studied how he was putting the cans together. 'so I was spacing then too far apart ok then' she mentally noted to herself as she began to stack them herself. Hopefully this time she would get it right, and sure enough they weren't falling over again. She quickly popped one of her two earbuds out of her ear, so as to be able to hear what the other was saying.
"Heh... I've only been here two days. You seem like you've seen this a lot." It wasn't long before they had all the cans stacked up again, and she smiled and put out a hand for him to shake. "Airini Rutherford- straight from NZ." As she watched him carefully, seeming curious about him but now very calm about the situation. She didn't normally say so much unless prompted yes- but something about him made her feel like she could be more open with him. Maybe it was his friendly nature? Either way, it was obvious she wasn't normally this way with people. She felt so awkward saying so much without prompting.
But ah there went Pandora suggesting a very loud song, and she scowled at her iPhone as she pulled out the other earbud. It became clear from that reaction that she did not like loud noise, which at least partly explained her reaction to the cans falling over.

“The things we do for our brothers, right? We work.” Unable to repress a shudder at the thought of working instead of taking a nap, he continued stacking the cans on top each other while relying on muscle memory to get the job done. He himself had a penchant for knocking the odd display over and scrambling to clean it up, giving himself unnecessary work all too often. That was the only reason he was able to help the other out of her situation.
The girl’s comment fashioned a grin on his face, “Seen it? I’ve done it too many times, the least I can do is help out a fellow victim.” Once they finished returning the can display to its former glory Feliciano was all too happy to shake the girl’s proffered hand, introducing himself in a sing-song manner, “Feliciano Vargas from somewhere in Italy. Airini’s a cute name, it’s not like others I’ve heard.” He moved over to his broom and made a show of sweeping the area before leaning against it and grinning at the girl’s sudden silence. Perhaps her earlier extroversion was due to frustration, either way he was glad she wasn’t as snappy as most people would be after being buried by cans. And if she felt uncomfortable it was his job to make the area more comfortable; that was basically the role of a janitor, was it not?
He was about to crack one of the lamer jokes he could have come up with until Airini suddenly removed her earbud with a scowl - maybe that was a sign to keep his lame jokes to himself. Frowning in the slightest, he walked over and patted her ears gently, that’s what he did whenever something loud startled him - he assumed she wasn’t too thrilled with the now loud music filtering out of her earphones, if her scowling at her iPhone was anything to go on. “There there, your ears will be fine.”
